how do I actually buy something from the parts factory

  3. Great video. Buying parts can be a major pain.

  4. Hi! I bought a remanufactured oem Denso alternator online with Balise Honda located in Massachussette for a price that was much better than local dealership. Installed it and persistent loud grinding noise that I can hear all the way from inside my house. Put my old one back and no grinding noise. Put the new one on, noise again. They probably didn’t replace the bearings on this. The part has one year limited warranty with America Honda, not the online store who sold it. What is the typical process of initiating an exchange on this? Does it require I hire an auto mechanics to show proof of defective part? What about DIYers trying to save money by installing it ourselves and running into defective parts? Trying to find out and be informed of my rights before calling them. Any help would be appreciated.

Good tip indeed. I’ve done that many times. I drive a Kia and will often cross-shop Hyundai parts that fit. Rebuilt my whole MT that way. Only thing I’ll add is to carefully compare the new and old parts before installing to be doubly sure.
